NFS has a small number of transgender members who are at different stages of the process, and some have successfully adopted. Some identify as gay, lesbian or bisexual, while others identify as straight. Being trans shouldn’t be a barrier to adoption or fostering. However, many agencies need more resources to help them prepare and little is currently available.
If you are trans we suggest you share your experiences and any resources with others in NFS. If you have any resources to add here, or would like to help create new resources, please let us know using the link at the bottom of the page.
