Judge grants order for English couple to adopt Scottish children (Scottish Legal News)

A couple from England has been granted a court order to adopt two Scottish children despite the children’s birth parents opposing the applications. The siblings went into care following concerns about their well-being while in the care of their parents and had lived with their birth mother’s half-sister and her husband for three years. A judge in the Court of Session ruled that adoption was ‘necessary and proportionate’ in the circumstances of the case.
