Foster children with additional needs (Manchester City Council)

Manchester City Council – a New Family Social member agency – is recruiting short-break foster carers; people with experience of working with children who have a physical or learning disability. Children with additional needs and disabilities need foster carers — some children visit ‘short-break’ foster carers, who they stay with for one to four nights each month to give their family a break. Other children need foster carers that they can stay with for longer.

You can find out more at a free event – coffee’s included –  and hear why the council needs people like you. At the event you can speak with managers, social workers and current foster carers. You’ll also hear from parents whose children have ‘short breaks’ with foster carers and find out how this benefits their family. There’ll also be children’s profiles there to help you get to know about them/

The event takes place Saturday 24 November from 10am (for a 10.30 start), at  the Leinster Room, Irish Centre, Cheetham Hill M8 0AE
