Adoption support cap to remain until 2018 (Children & Young People Now)

Limits to the amount of money families with adopted children can claim for therapeutic support will remain in place until at least 2018 it has been announced.

As a result of demand for the Adoption Support Fund – which was made available nationally in May 2015 – being twice as high as expected, in October last year the DfE announced it was limiting a cap of £5,000 to the amount of support families can receive.

The ‘fair access limit’ was due to remain in place until March 2017. However, the government has said it will now remain in place until March 2018.
